January 2013 Favorites

January 2013 has been quite the month, I have really been very simple and repetitive with a lot of my makeup choices. I often run out of the house with a makeup bag in tow, and find that if I have a set routine of makeup that works for me, I can get my makeup done in a matter of minutes on the way to work, not always my best choice, but its reality. A large number of my products that I have been using are some Tarte favorites and some newly discovered items.

Tarte Miracle of Maracuja Foundation in Fair. I truly love this foundation. I find that it gives me wonderful coverage, correcting imperfections but also leaving my skin looking very natural and unmade up looking. I can still see my freckles, but my redness and flaws are covered very well.

Sephora Professional Makeup Brush #56. This is the brush that I have been using for my application of my foundation. I find that it quickly and effortlessly blends the foundation into my skin. I got this on clearance at Sephora with the silver handle.

Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder in Fair. I picked this powder up (and the coordinating foundation as well) at the beginning of January when it first came out. I find that it has a lovely texture that doesn't allow my makeup to look caked up or dry on my face, even the areas of my face that have a drier feel during these cold winter months. Its been working wonderfully to set my Tarte foundation and keep my skin looking perfectly all day. I use the Sephora brush or the Tarte Airbrush foundation brush.

Benefit Erase Paste in #1. This has been my go-to undereye concealer this month. Its got nice coverage and fantastic staying power.

MAC Cremeblend Blush in So Sweet, So Easy. I finished this product this month. A light but still slightly bright (on me) pink, this helped to freshen up my super pale winter skin, and it was a perfect match for my powder blush that I used this month. I am happy to finish this product, as I had neglected it for quite some time and forgot I had it.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Fantastic. This is a bright but lighter cool-toned pink blush. This blush is completely matte. It completely freshens my complexion and brings the right amount of color to really waken me face.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Angelic. This is a golden champagne highlighter. I haven't used this every day, but when I do add it to my normal routine, I get a couple of extra comments about how I look, which is nice to hear.

MAC eyeshadow in Tissueweight. I used up this product this month. I really like this eyeshadow and if it wasn't limited edition, I would totally repurchase. It's a light frosted pale pink that really helps give a great neutral look.

Wet n Wild eyeshadow in Brulee. This is a cream colored matte eye shadow that I picked up this month, and have already hit pan on. It was on sale for $0.99 at CVS and I am so happy that I picked it up. Its a perfect neutral to put all over the lid to neutralize my eyelids. I wear it all over my lid on an almost daily basis, often with something with a frost/satin finish over the middle of the lid and just under the brow. Love that I picked up this shadow, and I will have to pick up some backups as I haven't found a better neutral cream colored shadow.

Nars eyeshadow in Ashes to Ashes. This taupe-brown is great as a crease color with a slight bit of frost. I have been wearing this or MAC Satin Taupe every single day. I rediscovered Ashes to Ashes in the past month, so I have been picking it up the most, and I have it stored in my everyday makeup bag.

Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Mascara. I received this mascara with a QVC Tarte TSV, and I have been loving using it. It gives wonderful volume and keeps my eyelashes separated and natural looking.

MAC Lipstick in Chatterbox. This bright neutral medium pink is much more of a summer color, but I picked it up this month with B2M and I couldn't resist wearing it most of the month. Once again, this bright color really livens up my face, and while all the bright pinks may sound like overkill, the fact that the cheeks were light and the eyes were very neutral allowed my lipstick to be the true star.

Sally Hanson Complete Salon Manicure in Peachy Keen. This is a neutral peach nail polish that has been my go-to as I have been going on interviews this month. This particular color has amazing lasting power. I did it before an interview on January 16, 2013 and it lasted for about 10 days before I had to remove it because of chipping. That is fantastic lasting power.
