NOTD: China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise with Wet N Wild Caught on Sapphire

Flash, indoor photo
This manicure is China Glaze in Turned up Turquoise with Wet N Wild in Caught on Sapphire as an accent nail. This a bright teal manicure with blue/teal large glitter accent.

No flash, indoor no direct light
Outdoor
Color: The base color is a deep teal/green with a slight shimmer.  It is  chameleon type color, it gives completely different effects in different lighting and different settings. It is a "neon" but is not blindingly bright. It has a deeper and richer color to it then what I would typically classify as a neon.  The glitter coat is a clear base with large blue/aqua glitter and micro blue/purple glitter. This gives the entire accent nail a blue tinted look, due to the micro glitter.

Formula/Application: As a "neon" per se, the Chine Glaze in Turned Up Turquoise dried to a matte finish. There is a slight shimmer to the finished look. The first coat was slightly streaky, and left completely empty spots, but I was able to fix that with the second coat. I only did two coats with this look. As for the glitter, it was thick. But I was able to spread out the clear base and get the glitter evenly distributed. Each accent nail has two coats of glitter. I would have liked if it had more opaque glitter coverage. I also wish there was some green in the polish.

NOTD: Revlon Brilliant Strength in Dazzle

This manicure is Revlon Brilliant Strength in Dazzle. This a light nude beige color. I got this as part of the CVS special, all Revlon nail polish is $4.99 with $3.00 extra bucks. I was looking for something that is a little outside my normal colors and finishes and this did the trick. I think its a great summer/spring color.

Color: This is a medium warm-toned coral/pink jelly polish with multi-colored flake glitter. I liked that this polish had a coral tint to it. It made it feel slightly more subdued. I got a fairly good coverage with two coats, although it is definitely not an opaque coverage. But I think another coat might make it opaque.

Formula/Application: I found the formula to be fairly smooth. Because it has glitter in it, it wasn't perfect smooth. But the glitter flakes seemed to meld into the jelly finish and with the second coat it looked very smooth, and with the top coat it looks smooth, but it has a slightly uneven finish to the touch.

NOTD: Orly in Rage

This manicure is Orly in Rage. This a metallic rose gold color. Currently CVS has the Orly old packaged polishes on sale for 50% off so I picked this one up for $4.00. I only have one other Orly shade, but I think its a good workable formula and a good value as the polish has 0.5 fl oz.

Color: This is a metallic rose gold colored polish. It sometimes looks like a light pink metallic, and other times shines with a great gold color. I think this polish would look fantastic as a pedicure color and on anyone with a tan or deeper skin tone. Unfortunately I don't tan, but I still think its a good look, it is warm toned, but it still worked well with my cool-toned skintone. I got numerous compliments on this color!

Formula/Application: I have only ever tried one other Orly polish, but so far so good. The finish felt a little grainy, although it didn't look that way, and it did apply smoothly, even if that is a complete contradiction. But I think that has more to do with the fact that it is a metallic. I found that two thin coats gave completely opaque coverage and great dimension of the color.

NOTD: Revlon Colorstay in Trade Winds

This manicure is Revlon Colorstay in Trade Winds. This a light nude beige color. I got this as part of the current CVS special, all Revlon nail polish is $4.99 with $3.00 extra bucks. As silly as it sounds, I have been wanting this color for the name as well as the color. My grandparents used to own a condo in a unit called "Trade Winds" in Florida, and it made me think of them. I wouldn't have gotten it if I didn't like the color, but the name was a nice added smile.

Color: This is a great neutral beige. I think it looks really good on my pale cool undertone. Beige and other nude colors can sometimes be difficult for me because they are too warm, this color is not. I did two coats to get this coverage. There are some imperfections, but that is user error, in that I was restless and instead of waiting for my nails to dry all the way I just started doing things with them still wet and got a nick on the ringer finger and some smudging. I was able to mostly smooth it out with a healthy dose of Seche Vite.

Formula/Application: I really like Revlon Colorstay formula. Honestly, I think I have really liked every Revlon shade I have ever tried. But I do especially like the Colorstay formula. I found that this polish went on extremely smoothly and with little streaking. I got a nice finish with one coat, but it was still slightly translucent. With two coats it was opaque, and I am sure it would look good with a full three coats as well. I like that this polish is not too thick but still gives good coverage.

NOTD: Sinful Colors 24/7

This manicure is Sinful Colors in 24/7. This a true neon pink. It reminds me of this fantastic outfit I had back in 1990, when I was in first grade. Neon is big this season, and instead of spending a small fortune on higher end shades I might not wear too often, I decided to pick this one up at Target. It was $1.99. I think that is totally worth it.

Color: This color is so very 1990, and I love it for that. This neon pink creme finished color is very reminiscent to me of the neon pinks that I loved in the late 80's and early 90's as a young kid. I had an obsession with neon pink and neon green. And believe me I was tempted to somehow add green to this look, luckily I don't have a neon green polish and stuck with the pink solo look. I wouldn't say the color is blindingly neon, but is definitely an attention grabber.
Formula/Application: As with most neon shades, this shade dries to a matte finish which shows off the streaky nature that the neon color can have. It took me three very thin coats to get this coverage to be streak free and opaque. With the addition of Seche Vite is has a gorgeous shine and I don't notice any streaking.

Influenster: Glamour Look by Mary Kay®

I am a part of the Influenster program, in which you are chosen to be part of a testing crew on new products based on your interests, etc.

I am really excited to share the Glamour Look by Mary Kay® that I just recently received. I love makeup and was really excited to get a chance to try out Mary Kay® products. I have only tried two Mary Kay® items in the past, and they didn't dissapoint. I have used the eye primer. I like it, its not my favorite, but I like it better than the Urban Decay Primer Potion but nothing can touch my tarte clean slate 360 creaseless primer as my favorite, but I really do like the Mary Kay® and it did replace the Urban Decay and also benefit's stay don't stray primer. The other product I have is Mary Kay® tinted lip balm sunscreen spf 15 in Poppy. My sister got this in a goodie bag on her college campus and passed it on to me. It's not super moisturizing, but it gives a good feel to my lips and leaves a nice bit of color to my lips. It's nice for a no makeup look, and provides SPF protection as well.
