Influenster: Glamour Look by Mary Kay® Day Eye Look

I am a part of the Influenster program, in which you are chosen to be part of a testing crew on new products based on your interests, etc. The most recent box is the Glamour Look by Mary Kay® that included 5 different products that I have had the chance to try out.

The kit includes the following:

Mary Kay® Lash Love® Lengthening (in I <3 Black)
Mary Kay® Lash Primer
Mary Kay® Cream Eye Color (in Violet Storm)
Mary Kay® Cream Eye Color/Concealer Brush
Mary Kay® True Dimensions Lip Stick in Pink Cherie

I have been using the products a lot lately for an everyday eye look and find that the products are great for an all day, no muss, no fuss, eye enhancing look.

As an everyday out the door for work look I have been using the Mary Kay® Cream Eye Color in Violet Storm. I really like cream eye shadows, and this one does not disappoint. I have tried several different brands, among my favorites are the MAC paint pots, benefit creaseless cream shadows and tarte emphasEYES waterproof Amazonian clay cream eyeshadow. These are a staple for me for a easy foolproof eye look. I have some bold colors, but not a purple like the Mary Kay® Violet Storm. I have been loving how the Violet Storm makes my green eyes really pop.  I found the wear time with this to be fantastic. I liked that while there is a nice sheen to the shadow, there is no glitter to detract from the look.  The application of these cream shadows is so simple. I can use my finger and get a quick dash of color, or use the Mary Kay® cream eye color/concealer brush for more precise placement, especially under the eyes.
After trying out this gorgeous purple, I am really looking forward to purchasing some additional colors. The first one has got to be Mary Kay® Metallic Taupe. I think that would be another beautiful one color lid color.

Another part of this look is the Mary Kay® Lash Love® Lengthening (in I <3 Black) and Mary Kay® Lash Primer. I have never really used lash primer before and I am seriously confused how I ever got by without! I have extremely sensitive eyes and I am very sensitive to any sort of mascara flaking, and I paired this lash primer with some other mascaras that I was on the verge of throwing away but this fixed my flaking issues, the main culprit was tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes. This primer made that mascara stay put all day long, and I find that it helped make that mascara look even more outrageously long and full of volume, without the fault of flaking. I think one of my favorite parts about the lash primer is that its clear! That way if there was anything missed at all, there is no perceptible white layer to my eyelashes, and if somehow the mascara still flaked it would flake to natural eyelash color not white primer. Now that I have discovered this lash primer, I know I will always have one in my makeup bag and I have been recommending it to everyone I know and meet! I find that the layers under the noticeable makeup can make the biggest difference!

No Mascara
With Mascara
I paired this mascara with lash primer with the provided Mary Kay® Lash Love® Lengthening (in I <3 Black) mascara, and I really enjoyed the natural everyday look that this gave me. My lashes are decently long, but the tips are very light, as you can tell in the no mascara look. I did a quick one coat of primer followed by one coat of mascara and got incredible length. I really like the look of natural eyelashes just amplified with color, and thats what I was going for in this look. Don't get me wrong, I love a full false lash effect look too, but not all the time. I found that this mascara was good for giving me that natural look, however, its not the mascara I would choose if I was looking for an over the top false lash effect. I don't know how well it would build up. I did use it with two coats a couple of times and found that it wore well and still looked fairly natural. I had some issues with slight clumping the more mascara I put on, but that happens with most mascara when you start laying on additional coats.

I don't think I would repurchase the mascara. I like trying out different mascaras, and while I have a select few favorites that I have repurchased, for the most part I like to try new mascara. Additionally because my eyes are so sensitive, I do try to stick with mascara that is as natural as possible.

Disclosure: I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.
