Lip Combo: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Crush and Almay Liquid Lip Balm in Just Plum Good

I tend to get on a kick with certain lip combinations. And to start out fall I have been rotating between this combo, just regular old lipbalm because the colder weather is already starting to chap my lips, and a  more neutral look. But this look is the most fall so I wanted to share.

Yay or Nay?  YAY

In the past several years I have really started to embrace lipstick in a way that I hadn't in the past. I used to just love to wear lipgloss, but I have become more daring with my lip choices. Once a women I worked with told me that her whole face was done as long as she had lipstick on. I don't know if I can say that just yet, but I really do believe wearing a lipstick or other stronger lip product does help with a truly finished look to the face.

These jumbo balm stains are a unique mix. They have great pigmentation, I love this deep berry/wine color of Crush, with good coverage, fair hydration and a nice shiny finish. I would not say this a balm to quench dry lips, but it is a balm in the sense that it meshes into your lips seamlessly, and feels balm like.

This color definitely does stain my lips, and I love the effect. I usually will put this on in the morning with a lipgloss over it, as the day goes, and I drink a lot of water at work my lips can start to fade, but after the gloss is gone and some of the color has worn away, I am still left with a nice flush to my lips.

The color of this balm stain is perfect as we enter this fall season. I can be a little hesitant with vampy fall colors, which is odd because I will do a neon pink or magenta color with no problem. I find this balm stain in Crush to be a good way to delve into the deeper fall colors. I typically like to wear my nude/neutral colors in the fall.

I was lucky enough to score this balm stain on clearance at CVS during their beauty clearance. But it appears that it is still available at stores. I was happy to pay $2.50 for this and a couple other balm stains (in Sweetheart and Precious), but I am not sure I would pick one up at full drugstore price of $9.99. They are usually found for about $7.50 at Target, and you can always find products on sale. I have only really started wearing this product the last month, but the product doesn't seem to be used up quickly, as opposed to other jumbo lip pencils that are softer (i.e. Tarte Lipsurgence).

This lipgloss is a perfect compliment to the Crush Balm Stain. It is pretty much the same color, just sheer, which is fantastic. I purchased this lipgloss recently in a couple different colors and this is the boldest color I purchased.

On its own, it is a sheer berry color. It gives a nice color to the lips, but is extremely wearable. The gloss is not super sticky, but it is definitely a gloss, so I am not sure why they call it a "liquid lip balm" as I wouldn't really compare this product to any sort of balm. As far as staying power, I don't know if I am the greatest example. I talk constantly as part of my job and I am often drinking water all day long. So my glosses don't always last that long. But while its on my lips, I do love it.

This is a well priced lipgloss, at approximately $5-6 with a decent amount of product.

I don't know if I would run out and buy another one of these glosses in this shade necessarily, but I do like the formula, color pigmentation and feel on my lips. I also think its a great price point, especially when Revlon glosses, etc can reach $10.
